After my timezone error, I looked at the timetable to see when the next available date for the class will be. Tuesdays at 9:00am with Nick Bosk (who is my ICA support) was hosting the classes. This was great!
First session was general discussion on “What is a coaching?”; “Why did some of us choose coaching?”. Nick gave us homework – until the next session to think about “How would you maintain your objectivity from the client and not feel offended if the client was not accepting your coaching?”.
This is my first teleclass and it is interesting to note that as a participant, you kinda wonder how the person doing all the talking feels… The coach is talking and its like – are people listening to me? Sometimes a question is asked and there is dead silence…. What I have realized is that teaching in this format requires alot of patience and the skills to draw people out and to get them to participate in a meaningful way. If I was doing this training, I would ensure that I take down the names of everyone who have logged into the class and during the session, I would call people by name in order to have everyone at least answer a question or comment on an issue.
This is really a learning experience for me as teleclasses are the wave of the future for training and I would like to do life coaching training in the future.
