Thought for the day: “If you want to know what you are committed to just take a look at your life”.
When I did the Part 1 teleclass for UAC, I was intrigued. What does UAC mean? It is a term created at ICA. In a nutshell, UAC’s are beliefs or judgments which we hold on to about ourselves, our universe and those around us.
How do we look at one of the age old questions that confronts human beings today: “Why do I continue to have outcomes, fall into situations, or have problems and issues in my life which I don’t want to have?”
Given that coaching is about making a difference in people’s lives and the quality of their lives, ICA has committed to address this for as long as it takes. ICA does not claim to be the holders of the Truth. They have endeavored to create a coaching tool that can make a difference in the quality of life. This tool is a way of looking at how we, as human beings, function in the world; what drives us; what stops us; and what fulfills us. The value in this tool comes from using it as an alternative perspective and if engaged in honestly, can open up new opportunities.
The full meaning of the above only came clear to me today – November 17, 2009 when I was doing a coaching session with a client. Listening to the client, I was amazed how the client was subconsciously holding onto their beliefs even though the client’s conscious mind was saying that there was a need to let go of the main issue that was affect their life…. That was an “OK then” moment for me. This is where ICA’s coaching tool has to be put into use and hopefully help the client move forward with their life.
