One of the things that I found very useful and is something that I would like to use in my coaching practice, is the technique of centering oneself before starting a coaching session. After a day at the office, attending teleclasses have to be a commitment because all you want to do is go and sleep.
I find that the coaching model and process are two areas, in studying coaching, that needs to be fully understood. Participation in the class helped to clarify and simplify the coaching process.
One has to be mindful of the types of clients that will require coaching and be prepared to think up ingenious ways to draw a particularly quiet client out of their shell. Research on the “things” that the client is passionate about will go along way in gaining the client’s confidence.
This was a good session…
Thought for the day: There are many ways to coach and each coach brings their own unique style and talents to their coaching sessions. Develop your own style and be confident with it.
